Leachate

/ˈliːtʃeɪt/
noun

a liquid that has dissolved or entrained environmentally harmful substances that may then enter the environment.

Leachate is a tryptic that was apart of my final exhibition for my master in photography at Goldsmiths, University of London. It focused on humankind and the environment, in particular humankind's interactions with water. It did this through both the images taken and techniques used.

The work was focused within the darkroom, with the final images also being selenium toned. This added use of chemistry was partly to bring forth the works focus on harmful chemicals entering the environment, wanting the view to reflect on this.

Presented here are three 4x5 negative scans. The original piece consisted of three silver gelatine 20x24 prints.
